22 Tango Records is bringing back this coffee shop music series designed to give musicians and coffee-loving music listeners a perfect avenue to share stories and songs. The intimate set-up allows the artist and audience to be in close range where the atmosphere is set for some good exchange of energy and interaction.

This will run for the next three months as they will do one show per month beginning this October. Sit tight as each leg will feature some of your local favorites mixed in with some fresh acts.
The first one will be on October 17. This will feature Lourdes Maglinte, Sepia Times, Julia Quijano and The Vast.
By November 14, they will have Vincent Eco, Route 83, Alexandria Alix and Jerika Teodorico.

Finally on December 12, catch the songs and stories of Mary Anchit, Cristeen Salazar, Mandaue Nights and another round from Sepia Times.
Of course, in true 22 Tango fashion, the #ShhhhPolicy will be implemented, encouraging the audience to keep background conversations to a minimum. This aims to encourage intentional listening and at the same time provide a safe and sacred space for artists to freely share their music.
All Cuppa Folk shows will be held at the newest Yolk Cafe branch located at Filinvest Cebu Cyberzone, Salinas Drive, Lahug Cebu City.

The pink cherry blossoms brought customers to them. But it was the great coffee, wine and pastries that kept them coming back. La Vie Parisienne is the first French boulangerie, pastry shop and wine library in Cebu. And much like the fuss about their wine, we are just as sure about how great their coffee is.

The selection of fresh breads and pastries from Abaca Baking Company (Photography by Jessica McYorker/Originally published in Zee Lifestyle, April 2015)
If there’s one restaurant synonymous to breakfast in Cebu, it’s definitely Abaca Baking Company. The scent of freshly baked bread and pastries easily makes this a favorite early morning destination, although for a more filling meal, we highly recommend the ABC Breakfast Skillet, with eggs, bacon, and sausages–and that’s only some of it!

Run by Michelin-star chef Jason Atherton, The Pig & Palm was bound to be a popular addition to the local dining scene, and it certainly did not disappoint in that aspect. While it draws the crowd in the evenings, the restaurant also boasts of a wonderful breakfast menu. The avocado and poached egg on toast is a must-try.

If you want a breakfast of champions, the morning buffet at Cafe Marco is the way to go. The extensive selection of international fare and local favorites will definitely fill you up. Besides, we’ll take any excuse to have malicious cookies, which are best paired with coffee.

Tymad Bistro’s bestselling crepe (Photo: Facebook)
Crepes for breakfast? Not the crepes you had in mind, for sure. This little bistro in Banilad takes pride in their Crepe Complete, an ensemble of a dish with Emmental cheese, ham, and eggs sunny side up–and with good reason. It’s so good, it’ll make for one of your most memorable breakfasts ever.

Birdseed Breakfast Club’s Eggs Benedict (Photography by Nath Ybañez/Originally published in Zee Lifestyle, April 2016)
Our website has already dubbed Birdseed as the place to have the best Eggs Benedict in city. The bacon is homemade, the yolk is rich and thick, the English muffin is flavorful with the wilted spinach, and the hollandaise is served quite generously. It’s hard to top that.

Chorizo and Egg in a Pan (Photography by Christine Cueto/Originally published in Zee Lifestyle, March 2015)
What’s breakfast without a cup of good coffee? Yolk, tucked in one of Mabolo’s quieter streets, is one of the few bistros that specialize in third wave coffee that’s freshly roasted. It’s the perfect pair to Yolk’s extensive menu of egg-based dishes, our favorite being the Chorizo and Eggs in a Pan.

8:00 AM – Breakfast at YolkStart your day right with a hearty breakfast, and one at Yolk Coffee and Breakfast will definitely set the tone for a great day. The quirky, Instagram-worthy interiors will charm you once you walk in, but the selection of breakfast items (served all day) will have you falling in love. 12:00 NN – Lunch at House of LechonA good number of locals will vehemently pronounce Carcar lechon as the best version of the roasted pig on the island—trouble is, tourists would have to drive more than an hour south to try the juicy meat and flavorful dipping sauce. That, fortunately, is no longer the case, with House of Lechon serving up the Carcar delicacy in the heart of the city, as well as original and spicy versions of the famous pig. And served in a cozy space conceptualized by none other than Vito Selma, it’s a pretty, photo-op worthy stop to your tour.

4:00 PM – Coffee at UNOSThe team behind UNOS Design Cafe was actually in the business of restoring vintage motorcycles, but when it came time to find a new place for their workshop, they decided to put in a cafe as well. It turns out to be just our luck, with UNOS decorated with the same attention to detail put into their bikes. From the individually hand-painted stools, the color-washed wooden tables or the mural on the white walls, your eyes will have a great time taking it all in while enjoying a cup of coffee and one of their amazing chicken curry puffs.

7:00 PM – Dinner at KairosAfter a meaty mid-day meal, try something a little bit lighter at the Kairos Culinary Loft. The Pinterest-esque rooftop restaurant is by reservations only and serves delicious plant-based cuisine, with The Lazy Chef Chip Lopez hoping to educate Cebuanos about healthy eating. The menu changes everyday, depending on what’s available in the market or what Chip harvests from her own rooftop garden. With a wide range of flavors using spices, sauces and fresh vegetables, you’re definitely not going to miss the meat.

8:30 PM – Nightcap at Qube GalleryWhat better way to end a day than with a glass of cold beer, and Qube has whatever it is that you may fancy. The selection includes beers from all around the world, as well as locally brewed ones from Cebu Brewing Company. Besides the refreshing brewskies, take time to explore the gallery’s exhibition of the moment, which usually features local artists–both young and old. It’s an artistic answer to the nightcap, and one that’s perfect to wrap up a full day.
