32 Umber
While serving real, good coffee that’s best paired with made-with-love desserts, 32 Umber’s interiors are perfect for that instagrammable shot. They’re best known for their coffee, but their matcha oreo tart and matcha-strawberry cake are noteworthy too.

Of course, we can never forget to have matcha in gelato. This gelato shop is a favourite among Cebuanos and their gelato is perfect to beat Cebu’s tropical heat.

It says on the name, Giant, and you get what you get: A Real Giant. At least, a real giant tub of Ice Cream, drowsed in syrup, brownies, sprinkles, marshmallows and whatever else you like on it. This one is definitely for share. But we don’t judge if you could finish one yourself!

Homebaked and fresh are two things that are hard to find in cafés these days. However, a little side trip to 32 Sanson in Lahug lies a hidden gem with a relaxing ambiance. Offering freshly brewed coffee and baked goods right from their kitchen, Marisse Patisserie has become a sweet getaway in the heart of Cebu.

A short climb on the highlands of Cebu rests a beautiful paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Delice Recipe features a first hand experience of Cebu’s beautiful skyline as well as their must-try Quattro Leches – a spongy chiffon cake soaked in 4 kinds of sweet milk. Pair that with coffee or tea and that’s a one-way ticket to dessert heaven. You’re welcome.

Crepes are a must-try at Tymad Bistro, a French café in Banilad owned and operated by a French chef. We recommend topping it with anything that tickles your fancy, whether its Nutella or Mango and Whipped Cream. If that’s not up in your alley, macaroons, cheesecakes and parfaits are also ready for devouring.

With fresh breads and coffee in a Parisienne feel, Abaca Baking Company is quickly becoming the trendiest place in Cebu. The place is great but do not be fooled, the food is even greater. All food and drinks are whipped up right from the kitchen with the freshest ingredients they can get their hands on.

There’s the famous Malicious Cookies but aside from that, we highly recommend Marco Polo Plaza’s Earl Grape Iced Tea. The tea is served with elderflower-infused ice cubes and Earl Grey Tea poured over seedless green grapes. Along with a freshly baked lokum or Turkish delight, the drink is surely the perfect cool down for the summer heat.

The new brand of Gelatissimo is fresher and more contemporary. From the previous red and green colors, the brand has adapted into a more modern take with red and black. The vibrant look translated to what the brand stands for, which is to provide positive customer experience.
“We want to achieve and complete the perfect café experience in your friendly neighborhood,” Maite Moraza, the director of Gelatissimo Philippines, said. After seven years in the country, Gelatissimo has embraced a fresher café format. It is the first store to have inside seats where customers can sit down and take the time to enjoy their gelato and the company of their loved ones.
Gelatissimo Café is the first store to offer pastries and new sundae desserts for customers to enjoy. The brand’s original Italian coffee is taken further with new coffee items in the menu.
The new branding will be rolled out to other stores soon. Gelatissimo in Greenbelt 5 will be started in the coming weeks, while the store in Ayala Center Cebu will follow in the third quarter of 2015.
Something exciting is still in the works for Gelatissimo Café, which people can look forward to in the next few weeks.
