Joseph Jumapao–The Many Facets of a Modern Renaissance Man

Though Joseph Jumapao works as a registered nurse in Palm Beach, Florida, his true calling lies in the pursuit of “the good life.” His various interests define his mercurial personality and steadfast character. Joseph is an avid arts and antiques connoisseur, as well as a jewelry designer for his own company, AAL. If the mood allows, he dabbles in gardening, sings occasionally as a member of the choir of St. Edward’s in Palm Beach, and more importantly, considers himself a “perpetual, lustful voyager.”
What is it that you love about your current profession?
I like the challenge and the navigation of strategies relating to physical therapy acute care. I’m also interested in the flexibility that it allows me.
How many hours of sleep do you require?
Five hours of deep, uninterrupted sleep.
What keeps you fit?
Gardening helps me, along with long walks and maintaining a good diet — that’s always part of my agenda.

What kind of watch do you constantly wear?
My work watch — a Rolex Date in white gold and stainless steel with a rhodium dial studded with diamonds. For dressier occasions, I wear a yellow gold Cartier Pasha with a navy blue leather band.
What current television series are you glued to?
BBC’s Asia narrated by David Attenborough.

Le Pavillon in New York
Best dining experience ever?
My appreciation for fine dining is quite varied, but Le Pavillon in New York is at the top. Once, I hosted a birthday dinner there for my friend Stephen Aznar — it was amazing!

The Frari Triptych by Giovanni Bellini in the Basilica Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari in Venice, Italy.

What is your favorite travel destination?
Italy — because of the way Italians are so passionate about their pursuit of la dolce vita. The country has everything that I love: food, wine, art, and fashion. Being a practicing Roman Catholic, I can attend Mass daily. When I travel, I always strive to find a balance between the mundane and the holy.

What do you love most about your job or career?
I love that my job offers continuous learning opportunities that empower me to create better products for our clients. Every day presents new challenges that sharpen my decision-making, enhance my focus, and ignite my creativity. It also gives me a platform to pursue my advocacies in art, culture, and women’s empowerment—integrating passion with purpose.
How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
A minimum of 7 hours—or I’ll be less sharp during the day.
What keeps you fit?
Tennis three times a week, early in the morning.
