Celebrate in Style with the Newest Issue of Zee Lifestyle
Zee Lifestyle, Cebu’s premiere lifestyle bible, ends 2014 and kicks off 2015 in style with the December-January Style edition.
Guest editor Melo Esguerra returns for his third Style issue, featuring real estate maven Beverly Dayanan. As the CEO of the young and homegrown real estate company Contempo Property Holdings Inc., Beverly talks about being a woman and staying on top of the game in a male-dominated industry.
Alongside Beverly are people who make up Cebu’s most stylish set: Fiona King, Aziza Mondoñedo, Kate Ngo, Neil Ong, Neil Felipp San Pedro, Buck Sia, Bernardo Urbina, Gretchen Choa-Uy, Patrice Uytengsu, and Slater Young. Take inspiration from their flair for fashion, as well as from the newest S/S 2015 collections that debuted at the New York Fashion Week: Tory Burch, Desigual, Diesel, DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Lacoste, Monique Lhuillier, Furne One, Kate Spade, and Jason Wu for Hugo Boss.
Show off your sense of style at the most fashion-forward places in Cebu, where the décors are just as stylish as the people: General in Ayala Center Cebu, The Henry Hotel, Joan & Klaire at the BTC, Mismukuno Teppanyaki, No. 9 Restaurant, Politics Café + Public House, and the newly-renovated Restaurant Aziza.
Meet the driving forces behind the style industry: Lacoste’s creative manager Felipe Oliveira Baptista, Filipino-American digital innovator Brian Aznar, who is Condé Nast’s director of technology for Style.com and Women’s Wear Daily; and Renée Patron, the visionary behind Banago, a collection of bags and home accessories hand-woven from banig. Banago’s pieces have made it to the pages of Elle Japan, Travel & Leisure, and Vogue.
This issue also introduces the young, thriving and talented people changing the landscape of Cebu’s creative industry: Bill Bagayas, Dani Bautista, Raisa Bercede, Jona Branzuela Bering, Joe Branzuela, Paolo Crodua, Christine Cueto, Toni Marie Despojo, Marianne Dungog, Thom Jopson, Jessica McYorker, Erika Ong, Kyle Wong and Nath Ybañez.

LONDON IN FULL BLOOM: An Exclusive Look at the recent Chelsea Flower Show
The Chelsea Flower Show in London, one of the most prestigious horticultural events in the world, returned in full glory in May 2023, captivating visitors with its stunning displays and landscape designs. Held annually on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London, this year’s show proved to be a true feast for the senses, showcasing an array of breathtaking gardens, vibrant floral arrangements, and innovative landscaping. The 3-day event showcased 36 outdoor gardens, including four balcony gardens for small spaces. Inside the giant pavilion, blooms compete with each other, exotic flowers, roses, and many more.
The 2023 Chelsea Flower Show embraced a Nature’s Harmony theme, with a strong focus on sustainability and mental health. The show’s organizers emphasized the importance of sustainable gardening practices and biodiversity conservation, inspiring attendees to create beautiful outdoor spaces while preserving and protecting the environment.
What’s Cebu got to do with the Chelsea Flower Show in London? One person. James Doran Webb (https://www.jamesdoranwebb.co.uk), an Englishman working with driftwood, has been displaying his artworks for several years. James collects cast-off driftwood and shapes them into beautiful animal shapes that find places in some of the most iconic gardens. Leaping horses, owls, reindeer, and the occasional dragon, James Webb’s creations are avidly collected by landscapers to add accent to gardens in all sizes, using cast-off wood, fitting perfectly with the sustainable element—something Mr. Webb has done quite well for the last decade.
